Chasing Nikki (Chasing Nikki #1) by Lacey Weatherford

Story: Chase Walker’s life does a 180 after the death of his father. He goes from being a lovable athlete with a promising future to getting caught up with drugs and alcohol. Things go from bad to worse when Chase gets arrested. His mother decides to move him to Arizona to live with her father. It is here Chase meets Nikki and falls in love with her at first sight. Unfortunately, Nikki has given up on guys, especially athletes. Chase begins to chase her (this is where the title fits in). He finds everything he needs in Nikki. She helps him to become a better person.

Our rating: 4 out of 5 sobbing stars

Review: It’s been days since we finished reading this book and yet our eyes still tear up when we think about this story. Chase and Nikki are two great characters with so much depth. The romance in this book is beautifully done. We loved the make-out scenes that made us feel like a fly on wall. It was nice to see how Chase and Nikki help each other to overcome so much pain in their lives. The strength they both have is amazing. Nikki became one of our favorite female characters from the moment we were introduced to her. This story felt so real even with the fast pace. As we got closer to the end the box of tissues came out. We all agreed we couldn’t stop crying once we were done reading. For a minute we thought we were reading a Nicholas Sparks book. Now we must say the only reason this book got 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the epilogue. It took us for a turn that we aren’t sure we liked. With that said, we really enjoyed this story that set off every emotion in us.

So find a good place to cry and read Chasing Nikki.
