The Time Zombies Became the Least of My Worries by Jen Naumann

Story: Ever since the zombie virus hit Emma’s irritatingly boring Midwestern hometown, she’s been on the run with her old best friend-turned-boyfriend Finn. On their journey, they’ve witnessed some pretty disgusting deaths, narrowly escaped life-threatening escapades that sometimes included one of their own pulling a gun on them numerous times, and redefined the definition of what makes up a family (as it turns out, soldiers and geeks can be pretty decent). They’ve even learned the disturbing truth behind the mysterious virus. But after Emma was bit by one of the infected trying to save her neighbor boy, she was told she would not have long to live. In the thrilling sequel to The Day Zombies Ruined My Perfectly Boring Life, Finn will help to tell the story as Emma and the gang are faced with the most crucial life-changing decisions yet. They’ll come across an unfortunate group of rednecks, discover the truth of what happened to Finn’s federal agent mother, and finally see a chance at truly being safe without having to run anymore. But in the middle of it all, Emma and Finn’s relationship will soar to completely uncomfortable levels when Finn takes things one step too far. And between being injected with an unknown liquid, taking on a completely unexpected (and really agitating alliance), and being left for dead by those she loves most, Emma will realize that zombies are the least of her worries.

OUR RATING: 5 OUT OF 5 BRAIN EATING STARS

REVIEW: The Time Zombies Became the Least of My Worries is the sequel to The Day Zombies Ruined My Perfectly Boring Life, which we are huge fans of. The sequel did not disappoint. It started off at the same point the first book ended. All the characters were back and many of our unanswered question were finally answered. We actually love this book more than the first. But don’t get us wrong the first book is still amazing. Emma is one of our favorite characters in this series. She’s funny and honest. We loved watching her grow in the second book. Emma is not one to wait to get rescued, she takes charge and easily can be considered a hero. At least she’s our hero. Finn is still as dreamy as ever. He’s so protective of Emma. Watching their relationship continue to evolve is fantastic. In this book we also get to go into Finn’s thoughts since he is also the narrator. We think we love him even more. Every character in this book has something to contribute and well developed. The action in the second book continues to be top notch. This book will make you laugh out loud and even shed some tears. Most of all this book will make you fall in love with Jen’s writing.

So turn off the Walking Dead Marathon and read The Time Zombies Became the Least of My Worries.

3 Days by Krista Madden

With access to fuel limited, she must do anything necessary to get to him before he is forced to move on, but society is crumbling around her. Looters and murderers prowl the cities during the day, and something even worse roams at night.

Our Rating: 4 out of 5 solar flaring stars

Review: Okay we have to start this review with a warning, this book starts off really slow you might want to give up on it but trust us don’t. Krista is an amazing writer. She takes you on adventure you have never been on before. Kara and Blaine are wonderful characters. Their friendship is very believable, and nice to see them grow under their circumstances. They quickly implant themselves in your heart. Jared is also a remarkable character. We want a friend like him. The three of them together seem like they can conquer anything. Their sense of humor will make you laugh, and the way they take care of each other will make you want to hug them. Together they must survive after a solar flare hit. In fact Kara must find her way back to Blaine and Jared in three days, but she finds many obstacles that try to stop her. These obstacles a.k.a. the intruders will give you the creeps. Just the word “intruders” makes you want to hide. The ending left us wanting more. We feel like we will not be able to breathe right until the next part comes out. This book will make you laugh, cringe, and cheer. It’s an amazing ride you will not want to end.

Battle of the Book Boyfriend (round 2)

This is the fifth and last match in round two in our battle to find the best boyfriend of the week from 2012. Each winner will move on to round three, which will begin in three days. So now enjoy our final battle of the book boyfriends in the second round. But first here is why we picked these three boyfriends:

20121016-175801.jpg

Sebastian is the type of guy that can teach how to reel a guy in (AKA: The Hook-up Doctor.) Sebastian might think he’s God gift to girls, but he has a heart of gold when it come to his friends. He is very charming and will get inside your heart even if you don’t want him to. He might be afraid of love, but he’s not afraid to hug his mom. Sebastian may come off cocky but his heart will make you fall for him.

20121001-185855.jpg

Wes can easily be the guy of your dreams. Okay, so he served time, but it wasn’t for anything big. Wes is the type of guy that can be series one moment and goofy the very next moment. He’ll become your best friend first. Wes will know almost everything about you, since his favorite game is truth. Wes will hold your hand when you need him to, and will make you realize the boyfriend you do have is a total jerk. We love Wes, but who doesn’t love the artsy type that can make garbage into beautiful art?

Finn is the type of guy that will carry you in his arms while zombies chase you. He’s your best friend, but you can quickly fall in love with him. He might have a jerk for a brother and secretes about his family, but his crooked smile will make you forget the end of the world is occurring. Finn will protect and fight along side you. He will hold you in his arms when you need him too and won’t think any less of you when you’ show up in “mom” jeans. He is amazing and will make your heart melt when it’s not full of fear. If you haven’t met Finn yet, you must. You will not only fall in love with him, but also all the other characters.

Battle of the Book Boyfriends

However to end round one this week we are bringing you three to chose from. Whoever wins will move to round two, which will start next week. Here is our fifteenth set of boyfriends of the week to vote on. First a reminder why we picked them:

Finn is the type of guy that will carry you in his arms while zombies chase you. He’s your best friend, but you can quickly fall in love with him. He might have a jerk for a brother and secretes about his family, but his crooked smile will make you forget the end of the world is occurring. Finn will protect and fight along side you. He will hold you in his arms when you need him too and won’t think any less of you when you’ show up in “mom” jeans. He is amazing and will make your heart melt when it’s not full of fear. If you haven’t met Finn yet, you must. You will not only fall in love with him, but also all the other characters.

20121106-135205.jpg

Jacob is the type of guy that one minute will be your buddy and next minute be this totally hot babe with abs of steel. He will help you build a motor cycle , and go to a slasher film with you. He’s the type of guy who will always put you first and protect you from evil blood sucking vampires. He’s a hairy kind of guy that likes to howl at the moon. He also does have a jealous side, but that’s okay because when it’s really cold outside his body temperature will keep you nice and warm. This week we are all about team Jacob.

20121113-154805.jpg

Edward will give you the wedding of your dreams, and not to mention a hot car. You might end up all black and blue on your honeymoon night but Edward is so worth it. And yes the baby in your belly will grow with great speed, but after she’s born Edward will finally give you that bite you’ve been waiting for. Edward might be a cold dead blood sucking vampire, but he his warm heart will make you love him for eternity. It’s all about Team Edward this week.

Review: We are not really into Zombies but this book has changed it all. We fell in love with the main character Emma from page one. She is one of funniest characters we’ve ever met in a book. She has some of the funniest one-liners we’ve have read in a long time. The Day Zombies Ruin My Perfectly Boring Life has it all. We found ourselves laughing out loud, falling in love, shocked, fearful for what would happen next, and even shedding a tear. Each character is so well developed and brings their own personal gem to this amazing story. Trust us when we say this book is a must read!!!! You won’t be sorry, even if you are not A zombie fan.
