Feudlings (Fate on Fire) by Wendy Knight

Story:  Nothing makes a new school suck worse than discovering the guy you’re in love with is your prophesied nemesis. Ari is the most powerful flame-throwing sorceress ever, and her people’s last hope in an ancient war. But she’s also a seventeen-year-old girl, and in her free, not-hunting-nemesis times, she jumps from school to school, trying to figure out regular people her own age and pretending she’ll get the chance to graduate. Shane lives a double life. He goes to school and masters the art of popularity, hiding the fact that he has a fate with a slim chance of his survival. He’s destined to end a 300 year-old war by killing or being killed. He knows he’s hunted by a powerful enemy who’s not afraid to die. Only problem? He has no idea who that enemy is.  When Ari shows up at Shane’s school, angry and sullen and determined to keep him at arm’s reach, neither of them realize they are supposed to be killing each other, not fall-ing in love. Until Ari does realize it, and she almost dies – by Shane’s hand.

Review: Who cannot like a book that is full of action and romance? You can say there’s a touch of Romeo and Juliet in this book with tons of kick-ass action scenes. Yes Ari is the most powerful flame throwing sorceress, but she’s also a real teenage girl going through teenage problems. This aspect makes it possible for the reader to make a connection with Ari. We loved her sass and her ability to rock it in high heeled boots. We love that she’s not the victim tripping over everything while trying to figure out why the cute popular boy likes her. She is strong and vulnerable at the same time. It’s nice to see a female hero. Then there’s Shane. What a hottie! He will make your heart speed up. Shane is a great guy that knows exactly what Ari needs to get her to trust him. Watching them fall for each other knowing they must kill each other makes it exciting and heartbreaking. Now we do have to admit it does take a couple of chapters to really get into this story, but once you do you won’t want it to end. This is an amazing book with so much action you will have a difficult time putting it down. We already add the next two books to our Must Read List.

So sit back and read Feudlings (Fate on Fire)

Battle of the Book Boyfriend (round 2)

Round two starts today in our battle to find the best boyfriend of the week from 2012. We will bring you a new match every three days. Each winner will move on to round three. So now enjoy our first battle of the book boyfriend in the second round. But first here is why we picked these three boyfriends:

John After  is caring, loving, and even moody at times but we still love him. Especially his love for Meg. He is one cop we would love to pull us over.

It’s hard to say why, without giving any of the surprises away. Let’s just say we picked him for his perfect eyes, hair, body, and heart. He looks after Lily in a way no one else can. He can make us drool in a way no other character has. You must get to know Eli.

He treats Belly better and is not so moody. As much as we loved Conrad in The Summer I turned Pretty, in the second book it’s all about Jeremiah. He’s the one that’s makes us melt.

Battle of the Book Boyfriends

Welcome to our fifteenth and last battle of the boyfriends in round one. Each week we have been bringing you a match between two of our chosen boyfriends of the week from 2012. However to end round one this week we are bringing you three to chose from. Whoever wins will move to round two, which will start next week. Here is our fifteenth set of boyfriends of the week to vote on. First a reminder why we picked them:

Finn is the type of guy that will carry you in his arms while zombies chase you. He’s your best friend, but you can quickly fall in love with him. He might have a jerk for a brother and secretes about his family, but his crooked smile will make you forget the end of the world is occurring. Finn will protect and fight along side you. He will hold you in his arms when you need him too and won’t think any less of you when you’ show up in “mom” jeans. He is amazing and will make your heart melt when it’s not full of fear. If you haven’t met Finn yet, you must. You will not only fall in love with him, but also all the other characters.

Jacob is the type of guy that one minute will be your buddy and next minute be this totally hot babe with abs of steel. He will help you build a motor cycle , and go to a slasher film with you. He’s the type of guy who will always put you first and protect you from evil blood sucking vampires. He’s a hairy kind of guy that likes to howl at the moon. He also does have a jealous side, but that’s okay because when it’s really cold outside his body temperature will keep you nice and warm. This week we are all about team Jacob.

Edward will give you the wedding of your dreams, and not to mention a hot car. You might end up all black and blue on your honeymoon night but Edward is so worth it. And yes the baby in your belly will grow with great speed, but after she’s born Edward will finally give you that bite you’ve been waiting for. Edward might be a cold dead blood sucking vampire, but he his warm heart will make you love him for eternity. It’s all about Team Edward this week.

A Vision of Green (Florence Vaine #2) by L

story: Since moving to Chesterport Flo has discovered new friends and a hidden world. After spending seventeen years as an Empath, thinking she was either delusional or very, very different, she has found others who are different too. She helped battle a coven of dark witches and watched as their leader got sent to her judgement. All now seems peaceful in her new town, but it’s not going to last. For one, Flo’s dad is back on the scene and has taken over her dead grandmother’s house with his new girlfriend. Dealing with him makes Flo think that maybe everyday people can be monsters too, as he blackmails her into giving up the one person she needs the most. Secondly, Flo hears a story about strange goings on in the nearby forest, and becomes obsessed with the magical things that might lie in its green depths. A Vision of Green is the second instalment in the Florence Vaine trilogy, where Flo finds herself yet again immersed in mystery, romance and things that are just a little bit scary. She will come across new adversaries, supernatural and otherwise, discover more about her own identity and grow in ways she had never anticipated.

Our review 5 out of 5 mythical stars

If ever there was a reason why you should check if your favorite authors have written anything new this book is it. We had no idea Ms. Cosway had put out the sequel to A Strange Fire until we checked it out on Amazon. We were shocked to see that not only this book was out but also many others, which have already been added to TBR list. Anyway, lets start by saying LH Cosway is a brilliant writer. She knows exactly how to bring you into this world of paranormal mixed with fantasy and mythology. We all agreed we had a hard time putting this book down. Florence is back standing stronger than ever with great friends around her. And let’s not forget about Frank. There is a reason why we picked him as our boyfriend of the week, we LOVE him. Things do turn when Flo’s drug and alcohol addict father comes back. Tears built in my eyes just thinking about this relationship. Experiencing something like this myself, at times it became difficult and scary to read the things her dad would say and do to Flo. I (Chelsea) personally felt like I knew exactly what Florence was going through. Sorry I had to let that out. Anyway, LH Cosway does an incredible job bringing the forest to life. We all felt like we were actually there and could see everything Flo does. The new mythical creatures are as or even more scary than the witches from the first book. What also made us love this book is how the characters from A Strange Fire continue to grow. They didn’t become stale or stay flat. We might have a new favorite (Josh). This book made us fall deeper in love, broke our hearts, made us hold our breath, and cheer. We are truly in love with this series and LH Cosway style of writing. We can’t wait for the next one.

So get ready for one amazing book and read A Vision of Green.

Our rating: 4 out of 5 out of this world stars

Review: Here’s one of those books that prove you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. We are not saying we didn’t like the cover. It’s just we thought it was a bit busy and were afraid the story would also be too complicated. But we were wrong.R.E. Sheahan does a wonderful job bringing you into two different worlds you will fall in love with. It’s set in the future with the good vs. evil story line. This book has just the enough description that helps you imagine it and doesn’t overpower the story. We loved the relationship between Erynn and Jaer. It a very cute buddy-romance. The pace of the story is perfect with the right amount of action to keep it flowing. All the characters are very well developed and you can see Erynn and Jaeg’s growth by the end of the book. Erynn is a wonderful character that many young readers will be able to connect with. We really love her connection to the animals. There were times we felt a little lost, but not so much to not know what was going on. This book is an easy, delightful read that is great for young readers.

So get yourself ready for a battle of good vs evil and read Storm of Arranon.

Kiera’s Quest: Sacrifices by Kristy Brown

As she comes face to face with her evil nemesis once again, Kiera comes closer to finding out the truth to why she has been chosen. Will she succeed? Will this be the end to Kiera’s quest?

Our rating 4 out of 5 Vortex stars.

Review: This book starts off right where the first book ended. We must say Sacrifices is just as good or maybe a bit better than the first book Awakenings. This story is incredible and has an ending you do not see coming.Sacrifices is filled with action, a little romance, and wonderful adventures that combine the world of Vortex, which we wish really existed, and Earth. Kristy does a remarkable job ending each chapter with a cliffhanger that makes it difficult to put the book down. She also has a brilliant talent in creating characters you will fall in love with. Kiera and Prince Zakk are still amazing together . Although Prince Zakk did upset us for a minute with his wandering eye.  And Kiera can be a little possessive of him at times. The Witch is still as evil and hilarious as ever. We also fell deeper in love with Maddy, who can hold her own on Earth. We love how she accepted the truth. The addition of new characters brings even more to this series. We usually do not like when there is more than one POV because it good get confusing, but Krity handles this just right that you never have to wonder who is speaking. This is a fantastic story for people of all ages. We can even see it becoming a movie or a weekly series, which everyone will enjoy. Besides, who can’t love a book the has tunnels fulll of poo to entertain us. Trust us this book might be short but it’s filled with so many twist and turns you will be entertained for hours. We can’t wait for the next installment of Kiera’s Quest.

So curl up on your bed and read Kiera’s Quest: Sacrifices
