When Marks Events and Weddings has an opening, she knows she’s perfect for the job. What she doesn’t expect is that the boss’s unkempt and full of bad attitude son will be the person she works most closely with. Nate Marks lost his fiancé and his best friend the moment he walked in on them sleeping together. He finds himself back at home in Las Vegas with his mother, taking photos for her wedding planning business instead of creating a portfolio to show at art galleries. Heartbroken and lost, Nate couldn’t care less about how he’s perceived by wedding clients… or the newest hire, Brooke. When Brooke finds Nate at the office passed out and hung over, she quickly fixes him up to look presentable for their meetings. Nate spills about his broken relationship, and soon their clashed personalities balance each other out. But when they both discover there might be more between them, they panic. Brooke’s determined to live life on her schedule, which never included a relationship with a co-worker or friend, and with Nate still aching over the girl he thought he’d spend his life with—they’re both about to lose a love they never expected to find.

OUR RATING: 5 out of 5 Romeo and Juliet Stars

REVIEW: We have been huge fans of the Heart Waves series by Danielle Sibariun since the first book came out. With each book in the series we have fallen deeper in love with the characters. And the final book Waves of Love does not disappoint. We actually all read this book twice because it’s that good. Many heated arguments were had over wine. Two of us are team Reece. He is amazing and after breaking our hearts to the point of blinding tears in Breaking Waves we were so excited to see his return. Reece makes everything better. The other two of us are team Tyler. There’s just something about the bad boy that makes us go wild. Tyler is hard to trust at first but Waves of Love he redeems himself and even made us cry. Jenna grows a lot in this final book too. We really get to see how much she loves both of these guys. This book has it all: love, suspense, moments that make you hold your breathe, and even sexy scenes. Danielle is in an amazing writer and her talent really shines in Waves of Love. If you haven’t read this series yet you must. You will fall in love with this adaptation of true love.

So cozy up on the couch with Waves of Love

Waves of Love2

Because of You by Maria E. Monteiro

STORY: Six years ago Austin broke Jade’s heart. On that day he went from being her best friend to the person she hates the most. Now six years later Jade’s life has been turned upside down, the family she once knew no longer exists. Her father’s infidelity has made it hard for her to trust anyone. That is until she reconnects with the one person she’s despised the most. Will Austin be able to break through Jade’s wall of anger to get her to trust him? Or will he break her heart again? Together they will experience the ecstasies and agonies of being in love.

OUR RATING: 5 OUT OF 5 FIRST LOVE STARS

REVIEW: As Young Adult readers we have completely fallen in love with this book. It’s what YA is all about. We had a hard time putting this book down. In fact one of us even had to survive after only sleeping for three hours at work because she couldn’t put her Kindle down. We love that Jade and Austin actually fall in love at a slow pace, but at the same time not too slow where you’re banging your head on the wall. Jade is sixteen and acts sixteen. It was exciting to see her grow through the story. Our heart broke and cheered for her. Jade made us laugh and made us mad, but most of all she made us want to fall in love with Austin too. Okay lets talk about the new love of our lives: Austin Evans. Austin is the best boyfriend ever. We love how he doesn’t give up on Jade even when she pushing him away. Now what Jade and Austin go through with him deciding on a college, and Jade having to deal with it reminded some of us about being in high school and going through the same exact thing. We knew exactly how she felt. It brought us right back to that time. We also found ourselves wrapped in the story about Jade’s parents’ divorce. From the first chapter we thought we were gong to hate the father, but that didn’t happen. He actually dug himself into our hearts. Maria has an amazing talent for giving each one of her characters good and bad qualities which makes the reader hate them and love them at the same time. Because of You made us laugh, get mad, cry our eyes out, but most of all it made us fall in love. This is a very sweet story about falling in love for the first time that will touch your heart.

So take a minute and remember your first love, and then read Because of You

A Life, Redefined (A Rowan Slone Novel) by Tracy Hewitt Meyer

Story: Seven years ago, an innocent act by Rowan Slone turned her life into a nightmare. Since the age of ten she’s lived with the burden of her baby brother’s death. Now she is seventeen and all she wants to do is graduate high school, go to college, and escape the loveless family she has endured all these years—the same family that holds her responsible for his death. But no one holds her responsible more than herself. When long-time crush Mike Anderson invites her to the Prom, suddenly her future looks brighter. Rowan’s younger sister, Trina, however, is determined to ruin her new-found happiness, no matter the cost. And when Rowan discovers her mother’s long-held secret, she finds herself teetering on the edge of an abyss. Can Rowan find the strength to move toward the future or is she doomed to dwell in the past?

Our Review: 5 out of 5 overcoming stars

Review: This book was gripping from the first page to the last. Rowan goes through so much your heart can’t help but break for her as it also cheers for her. Tracy does an incredible job bringing a spotlight to many issues teens have out there in the real word. One of them being cutting. So many teens deal with this issue. A Life, Redefined does a great job showing there’s hope and help to get through it. We love how Rowan doesn’t just give up and let things happen to her. She fights through her struggles, which trust us there are many, to better her life in a way. As serious as this book is there were times we actually laughed and smiled. Rowan was so realistic many times we wanted to grab her and giver her a hug. Tracy is an amazing writer, who will have you feeling every emotion in the book as you read it. This is a compelling story you will not want to put down. The surprise at the ends tells us there might be a sequel and we can’t wait.

So grab a box of tissues and read A Life, Redefined

Excerpt:

I run out the door into the hot sticky August night air just as my tears begin to stream down my face. How can my father do this to us? Aren’t Carrie and me enough for him? How could he think this was something to celebrate? I will never forgive him for this.

I continue running, trying to breath in the thick air. I run down the parking lot until SMACK! My body bounces right off someone’s hard chest and fall backwards onto the inflexible wet ground.

“Whoa! Are you okay?” I hear a deep voice ask. He gives me his warm hand and helps me up.

“Yeah,” I answer, as the pain throbbing in my chest now travels down my body.

“Are you sure?” I look up at him and roll my eyes in revulsion. Why out of everyone in the world, do I have to bump into Austin Evans? He makes me sick.

His dark eyes narrow with concern and I remember I have tears in my eyes. He must think he’s the one who hurt me.

I yank my arm out of his grip. “Yeah. I’m fine.”

“Look, if you’re hurt…”

“I said I’m fine.” I continue to walk down the parking lot. I have no idea where I’m going. My dad drove so it’s not like I have a ride. Damn it!

“Hey,” Austin calls out running behind me.

“What?” I don’t stop walking.

“You don’t look like you’re okay. Do you need me to call someone for you? Or…”

“No. Just leave me alone,” I spit out, without looking back. I don’t need this right now. All I want to do is crawl under my covers and cry my eyes out.

“Where’re you going?”

I don’t say a word.

“Do you…”

“Austin!” A girl calls out. This time we both stop walking and look back at Leah Turner with her lips twisted up into a phony smile. Of course it’s her! Where ever Austin is Leah is sure to follow. “Where are you going?”

“Nowhere. I was just making sure that umm…” He looks at me once again acting like he doesn’t know my name. He’s so full of shit. I can’t stand him.

“Jade,” I remind him.

His look of concern disappears as the corners of his mouth point up producing an annoying smile. “I know who you are, Jade Miller.”

Does he want an award or something for remembering my whole name?

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

“She looks fine,” Leah calls out trying her best to sound sweet.

Leah and me do not have a good relationship. She blames me for our cheerleading team losing at finals last year. It’s not my fault I walked out half way through the routine. My dad had just sat down with Trisha, and instead of watching his daughter cheer he was too busy shoving his old tongue into her disgusting mouth. Just another thing my father is responsible for ruining.

“Look, she’s right. I’m fine,” I reassure him, wanting to get away from him and this moment.

“Where are you going?” he asks.

“Home.” I turn around and continue to walk away from him.

He follows right behind me again. “Do you need a ride?”

“Aren’t you on a date or something?”

“What? No. I’m meeting a couple of friends, but it’s okay. I can take you home.” I spin back around to see him smile again making his dimples appear. I hate those damn things. They drive all the girls at school wild, but they have the opposite affect on me.

A long time ago Austin was my best friend. He was the person who I shared all my secrets with. He was the person who knew I broke my sister’s iPod. He was the person who held me when my grandma died. He knew everything about me as I knew everything about him. But that was six years ago. Now all I know about him is his growing list of hook ups, while all he knows about me is my name.

The Super Spies and the Pied Piper (Book #3) by Lisa Orchard

Story: Sarah Cole and her sister Lacey are at it once again when they learn their missing parents’ cell phone has been traced to Alden, Michigan. When the FBI declines to continue the in-vestigation, Sarah takes matters into her own hands. She calls upon the Super Spies and they delve into the situation. Suddenly, the teens find themselves immersed in small town intrigue and mystery involving a menacing stranger, who Sarah dubs “The Stalker.” But when Sarah learns he’s connected to her parents’ disappearance, she’s determined to find out what that connection is. The Super Spies embark on a journey that leads them into a web of corporate corruption at its highest level that leaves innocent victims in its wake. Can they find the proof they need to stop the greedy corporation before it’s too late?

Our Rating: 4 out of 5 corporate stars

Review: The girls are at it again in the third installment of The Super Spies series. This book begins a week after the Super Spies solved their last case of the High School Bomber. In The Super Spies and the Pied Piper we enter a whole new adventure that will have you sitting at the edge of your seat. The story is just as good as the other two. Every character is so well developed, and you actually believe you really know them. We really feel as we are not only going on these investigations with them, but are also watching them grow up. (Give us moment to gush over our spies.) This time it’s Sarah’s turn to get a love interest, Alex. They are so cute together. Reminded us of the relationship Lacey had in the second book. Now don’t think all this romance takes away from the action. It’s just as intense in this book, and will have turning pages.  A lot of questions get answered, which we love of course. If you are fan of mystery or just a really good series, you have to read this one. It really is for all ages. We can’t wait for the next one.

So grab your friends and read The Super Spies and the Pied Piper

Fatal (The Dead of Asher #1) by T.A. Brock

Story: Zombies eat brains: wrong. Zombies are mindless and unthinking: nope. Zombies are rotting bags of flesh: not necessarily. Zombies kill humans: never… well, there is that one exception. Grayson Patch hasn’t been human since he was seventeen years old… and that was nineteen years ago. When he rose from the dead that night, a Zombie, he had no memory of his former life, a craving for raw flesh, and only one purpose: to find a cure. He wishes only to be human again and he is promised that it is possible. But first he must find the human that can help him before he begins to decompose… and trade her life for his. As he learns more about her, he just doesn’t know if he can do it. Can he? When the cost of being human again is to become a monster? Cori Abbot isn’t scared of Grayson. Not when there are a million other things for her to worry about. Like being the new girl in a school that is a fraction the size of her old one. Or making new friends while battling her antisocial tendencies. And then there’s the big one: dealing with the recent and sudden death of her father. Yeah, there are bigger problems than the strange, withdrawn, and consistently angry guy who seems to hate her for no apparent reason. Imagine how surprised she is to realize that the ever hostile Grayson might actually be the one who understands her the best.

Our rating: 5 out of 5 secrete zombie stars

Review: There’s nothing better than when an author takes an idea and thinks outside the box when developing it into a story. Such is the case with Fatal. It’s not your normal zombie “eats” brains kind of story. If you think it’s something like Warm Bodies you’re wrong again. Well kind of. T.A Brock does an incredible job bringing us into this world where zombie do exist and all they want to do is survive without eating brains and find their savers. Behind the zombie walls is this beautiful love story between Grayson ( the frustrated zombie boy) and Cori (the timid hurting girl). These two character build a relationship slowly, which makes it very believable even if you are reading a zombie book. They don’t immediately fall in love, in fact it takes a lot of work and trust. They both have to battle many inner demons. Now don’t just think this is a book about romance, it also has lots of action that will have you turning the pages. Brock also does a great job with the secondary characters. Just like in life you get fooled by some of the characters you think you should trust and some you don’t trust. Now we do have to tell you at first you might feel a little lost and wonder why things are happening, but the authors does a wonderful job tying all the loose strings together with a shocking ending. You will close the book wanting more. This book is a thrilling ride you won’t want to get off. We really hope the next one is coming out soon.

So grab a glass of water and read Fatal.
