The One That I Want by Jennifer Echols

The One That I Want by Jennifer Echols is about a girl named Gemma, who has recently lost a lot of weight. The book starts with Gemma trying for the majorette team. She’s deals with a friend who doesn’t support her, because she not supposed to be the type of girl that joins a majorette team. She also deals with her evil best friend Addison. In Majorette camp she meets a very cute kicker named Max. Unfortunately, her best friend Addison also takes an interest in him. Max begins to see Addison, but has a strong attraction to Gemma. And as Gemma begins to see Max’s team mate she also feels a strong connection with Max.

OUR RATING: 4 out of 5 twirling stars

We loved that it wasn’t just about Gemma losing weight and becoming liked because of that. Max seemed so nice, but at the same time you wanted to shake him for hooking up with Addison. Oh Addison how much did we dislike you? Let us count the ways. You want to go into the book and hit her, though we don’t condone violence. One big issue we had is with the cover. Max is Japanese but the guy on the cover isn’t. Why didn’t they get an Asian model?

Twirl a baton and read The One That I Want.

Our Boyfriends for the Month of March

20120325-174853.jpg

Our very first boyfriend of the week is Phillip from That Boy by Jillian Dodd. Phillip won us over as JJ best friend first and the as her love interest. We love the way he always calls her princess. Even when he got mad at her he was sexy.

Henry from Heart on a Chain by Cindy C Bennett is our new boyfriend of the week. His love for battered Kate makes us adore him. His tenderness is what caught our attention. He is an amazing character from wonderful, heartbreaking, powerful book

Our new boyfriend of the week and to end March is John After from Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols. He is caring, loving, and even moody at times but we still love him. Especially his love for Meg. He is one cop we would love to pull us over.

That Wedding By Jillian Dodd

That Wedding by Jillian Dodd is the sequel to the heart warming That Boy. The story starts off where That Boy ended. JJ is getting ready to start planning her wedding to Phillip. She goes through all the up and downs of planning a wedding. From what dress to pick to having to deal with couples counseling.

OUR RATING: 5 out of 5 steamy stars.

That Wedding is full of charm. It made us laugh out loud (the STD incident), cry and fall in love with Phillip one more time. We were happy to see JJ grow up in this book, and deal with her parents death. It is the perfect sequel to That Boy.

So get yourself a piece of white wedding cake and enjoy reading That Wedding if you haven’t yet.
